The expansion of our storage facility has given us the opportunity to offer one of the fastest growing services in the Automotive industry, detailing. By constructing a state of the art booth at our facility, we have been able to team up with Dave Bowerman and his company, Sportscar Protection to offer a bespoke detailing service to our clients. Dave is one of the longest serving and highly respected professional detailers in the UK, his skills have taken him as far as India and Australia to detail some of the world’s most desirable cars, from classics like the Lamborghini Miura and Aston Martin DB5 to modern exotica like the Ferrari Enzo and Lamborghini Murcielago. His reputation is such, that not only does Dave detail the cars himself, but he also runs his own Detailer Academy to pass on his knowledge and techniques to individuals or company employees.

 

What is detailing?

Firstly, it is important to make the point that detailing is NOT the same as valeting. Valeting a car is the first step in a 20-30 hour detailing operation. The core of detailing is Paint Correction Through a lengthy process of machine polishing with detailing pastes of various grains, paint correction will restore the paint back to factory finish. However, in most cases the results are superior, as you will see from the various “Before and After” photos on the Sportscar Protection website. Other detailing services offered are: Paint Inspection, Leather Restoration, Carbon Fibre Restoration, Paintless Dent Removal, Wheel Refurbishing and Engine Detailing.

 

Why should I detail my car?

Throughout its life, a car is subject to all sorts of weather conditions, variations in temperature, pollution and in some cases, damage. The toll this takes on the bodywork of a car is much the same as that taken by the mechanicals of a car through everyday use. In the case of the latter, cars are serviced on a regular basis to make sure everything is in top condition. So why not maintain paintwork, wheels or interior trims like leather and carbon fibre? All of these are important factors when it comes to the enjoyment, comfort and value of a car. Respraying the body panels of a car can be very expensive, and when many imperfections can be rectified through paint correction, unnecessary. Whether it be part of a regular maintenance program, in preparation for a show or a once in its lifetime treat, detailing is an affordable and effective method of caring for your pride and joy.
